Re: William Cooley, with General Clark

Hi Jane,

The DNA of a descendant of William M Cooley makes it certain that he was
of the family. There are also several documents that tie him to the family
but none of them mention the relationship. At this point, we can only
guess that he was a son--probably the eldest--of John Sr.

And we can't be 100% positive that the William who served with Clark is
the same man, but it seems likely. All I know is what I have copied and
pasted here:

http://ancestraldata.com/Notes/index.cgi?1229380138+/ahnentafel/256/lineages/johncooley-desc.html

Which may be what you're looking at. Being a student at HSU has allowed me
to get some pretty remarkable stuff via Inter-library Loan. I'll see if I
get get a copy of the Harding book. Perhaps there's more information about
the company that William served with.

-Michael
