Thank you so much, Michael. I could spend all day with johncooley.net!

I'm further integrating the John Cooley portal with the "Y tree."
It's easiest if I walk you through it:
1.
http://johncooley.net
2. Click on one of the photos
3. Click on one of the names in the tree (not "FAMILY" yet)
This takes you to my notes for the person (if there are any). There are
two new menu items in caps: LINEAGE, which redraws the lineage, and
PORTAL, which takes you to the new home page.
4. When you're on a lineage page, click FAMILY. Each family member is a
link to their notes.
There's a lot more to do. Eventually, the design and colors will be
consistent throughout. Because I'm red-green colorblind, I'll one day
consult with a designer.
There are names that show in the family groups that don't appear on the Y
page. They're commented out because I had wanted to keep my focus
narrowed, first to only males for the Y research aspect, and then to only
four generations for everyone else. I have ideas for rapidly expanding the
tree it but first will develop two versions: the men only for the Y
project, and a version with everyone.
I'm testing all of this with only Google Chrome on my Linux box. In fact,
I've removed all other browsers from my system. I fully understand that
not all browsers aren't created equal so let me know if things look wonky
on yours and I'll look into it. Give me full browser version and OS
version (such as Windows 7).
I'm doing two one-day seminars for OLLI at the end of the semester. At
some point in the next few weeks I'll have to temporarily freeze my work
on this. :)
BTW, I'm also working on a simple portal for the Cooley DNA project:
