Hamil's grandson

Hamil's Pennsylvania Cooleys are not, we now know, related to us. But
dealing with Hamil's manuscript is an important element in getting to the
truth of our Cooley ancestors. I'm dealing a lot with it in the chapter
that I'm working on. And I'm afraid I'm being a little too harsh on her.
I'd like to draw a bit more sympathetic portrait. Her obit helped.

It occurred to me just yesterday that her grandson might still be
alive--he was born in 1939. Judging from google, he's living in New York.
I found an address, which is probably old. It would be great if we could
find an email address for him.

Ralph Edward Hamil is/was an author and, apparently, a diplomat. Here's an
interesting letter to the editor I just found:

Every week for the last there or four weeks I thought I was almost done
with the Hamil chapter, but new things and ideas keep coming up. I've also
not started on the illustrations. But I've got to get to work on the OLLI
classes I'm teaching so--finished or not--I'm going to post the first
draft this weekend. It's probably best that there are no illustrations at
this point because it's important that the text be reasonably clear and
easy to follow--not easy to do when writing about Hamil's book.
