I just found it! I wondered whether she died of a heart attack. It's sad
to think that the book might have contributed to her death.

LURA EDNA COOLLEY HAMIL
Mrs. Lura Edna Hamil, wife of Dr. Frederick L. Hamil, 229 North Union
Street, one of the cityÂ’s most active civic workers, passed away at
Deaconess Hospital at 8 oÂ’clock Monday evening.

About three weeks ago she was stricken with paralysis while alone in her
home and this illness complicated by weakness of the heart resulted in her
death last night.

Mrs. Hamil was a factor in the religious, civic and social life in the
community and her personal efforts constituted an important contribution
toward the success of many worthwhile projects.

She was appointed a member of the Lincoln Public Library board a number of
years ago and was active in the fulfillment of the duties of that office
until the time of her last illness. As a lover of flowers and gardens and
a student of nature, Mrs. Hamil passed on her knowledge in numerous
articles, including a book, "A Little Book of Garden Verses" which she
edited and published in recent years. By virtue of the latter contribution
she was invested with a membership the National Geographic Society.

Mrs. Hamil served as a president of the Lincoln Women's club for the years
1919-21 and was a very active member of the local Book club. She was a
member of the Lincoln Presbyterian Church and active in the work of its
many organizations.

Decedent was born at Newman, Illinois, August 26, 1878, the daughter of
Rev. and Mrs. C. B. Coolley, and was married to Dr. Hamil in Virginia,
Illinois, October 17, 1900. Her death occurred at the age of 54 years, 5
months and 14 days.

She is survived by her husband, one son Ralph, an attorney of New York
City, a sister, Mrs. W. F. --urres of Urbana; and a brother Dr. E. B.
Coolley of Danville. Another sister, Mrs. Etta Church, preceded her in
death.

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church at 1
o’clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. A. C. Preston will be in charge of the
service, assisted by Dr. Henry Smith of Chicago, and interment will be in
Union Cemetery. Ralph Hamil, who only recently returned to New York City
after spending several days at his motherÂ’s bedside, will arrive in
Lincoln early Wednesday morning.
