I have just been following E C Cooley through the years:
1860 Dickson County, Tennessee, p 77, listed as E C
1870 Hamby, Christian, KY, p 7, listed as Irvin
1880 Court House, Muhlenberg, KY, ED 137, p 31, listed as E C
1900 Hopkinsville, Christian, KY, ED 5, p 19, listed as Ervin C
1910 Hopkinsville, Christian, KY, ED 3, p 9, listed as Ervin C
1920 Madisonville, Hopkins, KY, ED 97, p 14, listed as Irvin
E C Cooley md Mary A Lewis in Dickson County, TN on 10 Jul 1858
Oddly enough his death certificate in Hopkins County, KY lists him as Ervin
"Wilson" Cooley, son of John Cooley and Martha Beardon. The informant was a
son, Linard C Cooley (Leonard). Ervin was born 4 Oct 1834 in MO and d 4 Sep
1922, Hopkins County, KY.
I also find a Milo Cooley who died in Hopkins County, KY. His birth date is
unk on his death certificate. He died 19 Mar 1919 and is buried in the Odd
Fellows Cemetery, Hopkins County, KY where Ervin is buried.
The parents of Ervin were md 12 Nov 1835 (which is a year aft his birth) in
Monroe County, MO. They are indexed as John Cooly and Martha Bierden.
