I didn't read it all...but will...I find it fascinating & love the
interspersing of the personal letters. It is oh so much more real!

Subject: McCabe and William Cooley, WWI

When possible, I've worked genealogy into my history classes. I wrote this
paper last semester for the WWI class. I have little evidence of McCabe
and William's participation so I turned to other sources to try to build a
picture of their service. I'd normally use far more material for an
academic paper, but few sources was actually part of the assignment. It
was a fun exercise, although the whole thing deserves a rewrite.

This is not normally my style of writing (I like personal essays that
blend all sorts of things together--in a manner that may be offensive to
some people!), and I had to pretty much remove the first page. I find this
pretty stilted. The creative writing class I'm doing is a lot more fun!

I taught my first genealogy class today. It was a wonderful experience!
We've got two more sessions.
