the city of Derby during WW2. As far as I'm aware, there are two main
Cowley families in Derby, and both of the lines originate from Southern
Ireland. I don't know of any Cooley's to hand, but as a rather intriguing
historic note the famous 17th century poet Abraham Cowley was pronounced
Cooley, so the genealogy plot thickens!
