I have seen Spade Cooley mentioned on this list. However, I believe this is
a younger one.

J.H. "Spade" Cooley
Birth: Dec. 8, 1927
Death: Dec. 28, 2012

J.H. Spade Cooley of New Deal, Texas, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at
his home. He was 85 years of age. Spade, an only child, was born Dec. 8,
1927, in Abilene, Texas, to Jube and Myrtle Cooley. He was a graduate of New
Deal High School and later enlisted in the Merchant Marines, where he served
overseas during World War II. Upon his return home he married his high
school sweetheart, Patsy Ruth Bumpass, and started a family. Spade spent his
working years as a salesman in many different fields of business, where he
had the opportunity to soar with the eagles and hoot with the owls. Spade
was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife, Patsy; and
granddaughter, Lyndsi J. Kim Miller of Whitney, Texas. Survivors include his
three children, Jerry Keith Cooley of Lubbock, Jimmalene Sipper (Jay) Bonner
of Whitney, Texas, and Jelaine Kubica of New Deal; five grandchildren, J.
Pat Cooley of Shelton, Conn., Shawndi (Chris) Weston of Granbury, Texas,
Chance Rocha of New Deal, and Dempsey and Dacy Bonner of Whitney, Texas; and
two great-grandchildren, Khonor and Khope Weston of Granbury, Texas. Spade
had many loyal friends, including his right-hand man, Mike J. Rocha of
Lubbock, and his four legged companion, Miss Beasley. Visitation and service
will be held at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home and Chapel. Visitation will be
today, Dec. 30, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. Services will be officiated by Don
Kubica on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at 10 a.m. Graveside service will
immediately follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery.
