Neither SNP is available at Y-SEQ. I see their price has gone up to $35
anyway. They've lost their competitive edge.

If descendants of two of John's sons tested, we'd have all pre-John SNPs
above the intersection of the two lines. Here's a little diagram I've put
together...

The red line represents John. The SNPs above the line preceded him. Those
below the line will differ between the two testers. It's that junction
where start matching that we'll know we're in John territory. A handful
of SNPs might be found that might tell us how the PA Cooleys are related.

I haven't heard from the Hackett yet. Derbyshire had a John Cowley born
around the same time as our John. His father was William.

The easiest thing is to use the donation link at FTDNA. I have control
over those funds. I'll put in a small amount next week. Those who add
funds, state something like, "For Big-Y test CF01 only." Or specify the
name of a tester, if you prefer.
