OMG, I think you have found the missing Malinda Cooley. I will do some more digging to see what I can find. I don't think that anyone the descended from Noah and Malinda knew what happened to her. Thanks for opening this door.

I have an idea about what happened to Timothy's daughter Malinda Jane Cooley
who was divorced from Noah Mullinex. I think that she left Noah soon after
the 1870 census and may have gone to Parkersburg, West Virginia. This is
where John Cooley and William Washington Cooley were seen having children in
the 1850s. She might have had two children before passing away or moving
on.....
In 1880 my John Cooley has two children in his household who are "adopted."
Their mother's place of birth was Missouri.

Is the surname of the children listed incorrectly on the 1880 census?
According to the death certificate of Philip Sheridan Vance his mother was
Malinda Cooley. The informant was Philip's ex-wife Sarada.
Is it possible that my John COOLEY had a sister, niece or cousin named
Malinda Cooley who married a Mr. Vance and was the mother of the children
"Philip Sheridan" and "Mary A. Sheridan" as seen with John Cooley in 1880?
She may have died before 1880 or left the children with the Cooleys.

I'm writing a blogpost on my John COOLEY for Monday. While going through all
my information I kept checking to see if any new databases have been added
to help with John's story. I believe that there is some importance in the
two children found in his 1880 household as adopted. Could I be on to
