Sorry if this is a duplicate, trying to see if I can send again without the formatting getting lost :)

I frequently stare at the Stokes 1790 census in disbelief at the sheer number of familiar names. Although the one I'm not interested in is almost entirely absent (White). I can't for positively connect all of these folks - but I find the following interesting:
-Joseph Eason - George White named one of his children "Eason" which is a rather unusual first name, unless it is a surname of someone near-and-dear. The name was passed down and eventually became "Easton".
-James Moore and David Moore - I suspect these Moores are related to "my" Elizabeth Cooley's husband, who was probably a Henry Moore.
-Adam Mitchel - not sure if he is related to John Eli White's wife's line (Mary Annetta Mitchell) line or William White's wife's line (Katherine Mitchell)
-William Holt and Ambrose Holt - my Lewis branch (MO) has some Holt's who are missing - haven't confirmed if these are related
-John Davison and Richard Davison - are these relatives for William Davison, presumed father of Jane Davison the second wife of George White? Are these Davison's related to the Davison\Davidsons of Casey Co?
-John Duggans and Sarah Duggans - there is a George White researcher who thinks that George's first wife was a Eunice Dungan, so I am curious if this is a different\misspelling
-James Coffey - George White's son, Eason White, had a set of twin boys, one was Christopher Coffey White. I've no other explanation for the Coffey middle name.
-John Minor - another reoccurring name in my White line - from wills to marriages
-Soooo very many Cooley's :)
-So very many folks of the Casey, Co Davis family line
When you look beyond just the page that John Cooley is on, you get even more familiar names:

-Hickman - this name reoccurs in my White line through KY, IL and KS
-Hall - are these Hall's part of the Hallsville Hall's of DeWitt, IL?
-Lewis - I know some of my Lewis family was in KY, I suspect some of them also moved from VA to NC before coming to MO and IL
-Webster - some of my White's were indentured to a younger John Webster in Casey, Co
-Willis, Hutchings, Hutcherson, Day.... I think you get the picture :)

It might seem all too coincidental, but when I look at the same index for another of my Scots\Irish lines, I can only find one or maybe two names and they are very common ones (McClellan etc). Nothing of the same kind of repetition of highly recognizable names.

Now, if I could only sort out all of the threads in this spider web!
