On the Macon Co., Mo. Index there are marriage listings by both bride and groom.
There is a marriage listed for Thomas M. Cooly to Polly Ellen Truett on 1March1860.
Could this be Thomas M. Cooley? It does not list his age. There are a few other Cooley marriages listed.

Reread T.M. Cooley's cw papers and found it was Benton Barracks not Barton. It was located near St. Louis.

Has anyone found Thomas Marion Cooley on any other census other than the 1850? Since he enlisted in Macon county, MO for the CW, I have tried the index for all kinds of spellings for 1860 with no luck. Also, I have tried anywhere and everywhere and have come up empty. Do you suppose that he might have died after being muster out in Nashville, TN? He had been in the hospital for a month with pneumonia. Where is Barton Barrack Hospital?
Questions, questions.
